seventeen's favorite witches.

another great halloween article from seventeen.com:

Top 17 Fictional Witches of All Time!
Whether they're superscary or just plain sweet, these fictional witches make Halloween (and any other time of the year) oh-so-fun! Find out who made the top 17!

Alex Russo
From Wizards of Waverly Place
Played by Selena Gomez
It's not fair-in real life, Gomez gets to hang out with Nick Jonas, and on her show, she can just whip up her dream guy with a few simple spells. Too bad she can't make girls' envy disappear!

The Blair Witch
From The Blair Witch Project
The Blair Witch Project proves you don't have to be all that real — or even seen — to still inspire many sleepless nights.

The White Witch
From The Chronicles of Narnia
Played by Tilda Swinton
She may have seemed beautiful and nice at first, but the kids caught on that she was anything but when they went to war with her over Narnia.

Louise Miller
From Teen Witch
Played by Robyn Lively
Louise learns the hard way that a life without superpowers might be more magical after all. Isn't that the truth!

Ursula
From The Little Mermaid
Voice of Pat Caroll
Ursula is the biggest, baddest witch of the sea. Guess that explains why she competes with Ariel for ... what do you call them? Feeeeeeeet!

The Sanderson Sisters
From Hocus Pocus
Played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy
Long before she hailed the power of the Manolo Blahnik on Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker channeled a different kind of sorcery to make things go her way. These zany witches make Hocus Pocus a Halloween classic!

Hermione
From Harry Potter
Played by Emma Watson
If you're Hermione, being a witch means going to school and on terrifyingly exciting adventures with the beloved Harry Potter. And getting to hang out with the adorable red-headed Ron Weasley as well! Not a bad life!

Piper, Phoebe, and Prue Halliwell and Paige Matthews
From Charmed
Played by Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty, and Rose McGowan
Three isn't a crowd for the sisters on Charmed, who find they're bonded by something stronger than blood: witchcraft.

Samantha Stephens
From Bewitched
Played by Elizabeth Montgomery
Next time you're spending quality time with mom, ask to watch reruns of her childhood fave, Bewitched. Samantha's nose-wiggling magical powers will definitely put a spell on you!

Sabrina Spellman
From Sabrina the Teenage Witch
Played by Melissa Joan Hart
Think high school is hard when you're a mere mortal? Try balancing homework and mysterious superpowers, like Sabrina did. On second thought, that probably wouldn't be half bad. That chemistry test? Zap! Poof! It's gone!

Willow Rosenberg
From Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Played by Alyson Hannigan
Brains can be beautiful — not to mention a lifesaver when faced with the apocalypse every now and then. Willow combines her inner nerd with witchy ways to help her pals, defeat demons, and even save the world.

Elphaba and Galinda
From Wicked
If Wicked taught the world anything, it's that appearances can be deceiving. Not every witch is as evil as someone makes her out to be. Got it, Munchkins?

The Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda
From The Wizard of Oz
Played by Margaret Hamilton and Billie Burke
These classic movie witches set the tone for what good and bad witches should look and act like — and they appear en masse every October 31. Now, you just have to ask yourself, are you a good or bad witch?

Alex Fielding and Camryn Barnes
From Twitches
Played by Tia and Tamera Mowry
If you're already a witch, you might not need a twin to help you out — but everyone knows there's strength in numbers.

Snow White's Queen
From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Voice of Lucille La Verne
Mirror, mirror on the wall, this queen might be the witchiest of them all.

The Grand High Witch
From The Witches
Played by Anjelica Houston
In The Witches, Anjelica Houston's character, the Grand High Witch, turns children into mice by making them eat chocolate. But no matter how many times we see it, we still crave candy bars!

a note from megan.

hey everyone, megan here...thanks so much for checking out my blog, it means a lot to me! i really appreciate that you're taking the time to read my randomness, and i'd definitely appreciate your feedback in a comment. this section is just to let you know a little bit more about what this site is about, enjoy.

just a little bit about me:
i'm 18 years old, i graduated from high school in cleveland, ohio last year and now i go to american university in washington dc. basically, i just write about a bunch of random stuff that interests me on here...just to give you an idea here are some of my favorite things to blog about, and just a sample of some of the things that i enjoy:

cleveland cavaliers
lebron james (and basically all the cavs players)
sasha pavlovic (a note about sasha: i've given up on my "7 year plan" and my obsession and what not...he's married now, i'll just leave him alone and let him be happy, but still i think he's an underrated player with a lot of potential so he'll always be one of my faves)
celebrity craziness and fashions...i just like to look at clothes, that's the main reason i post celeb pics.
going ons in my great hometown
basketball
my boring life
hot guys
fashion
all things retro and vintage
the 1950s...fashion-wise.
gluten-free living
feminism
television:
(ex: gossip girl, how i met your mother, law and order svu, real housweives, etc)
music:
(i like everything, mostly indie/alternative/punk, but i mix it up a lot and i absolutely love oldies, ska, reggae...and i there's definitely a place in my heart for hip hop :)...ex: sublime, afi, rage against the machine, nirvana, dr. dre, the spill canvas, dashboard confessional, the shirelles, be your own pet, the virgins, damian marley, the four seasons, the kills, rancid, taking back sunday, betty blowtorch, bikini kill, le tigre, cat power, etc.)
movies:
(some faves: american history x, legally blonde, the sandlot, the mighty ducks 2, office space, just like heaven, stand by me, step up, pineapple express, gidget, etc.)
books:
(faves: catcher in the rye, the great gatsby, twilight, gossip girl, pretty little liars, the grapes of wrath, the luxe, all quiet on the western front, etc.)

a few notes about me...i do post longer entries sometimes and they often have videos or pictures...i don't use lj cuts so please don't ask me to, i like all my stuff to be on my page. i get stuff from other sites a lot because i basically use this sometimes as a place to just kind of throw together all the neat stuff i like. it's kind of eclectic, kind of eccentric, very random, and totally me. ALSO! I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE PICTURES ON THIS SITE (unless they are pictures of myself, my family, etc. or i explicitly say that i have taken them). i find most of them on other sites/google image search, i usually try to credit where i found them, but sometimes fail to do so. if something on here is yours and is not credited please message me or comment and i would love to give you full credit for something that i thought was awesome and had put on my site! :) i only mean the best by putting things up here, just because i like them, as i've said before, and i don't mean to steal anyone's work. i'd love to give the person who took the picture/has the rights to the picture total credit, just let me know who to give the credit to.

again, thanks for visiting, i hope you enjoy my site and i'd really appreciate feedback. anyone can comment, even if you're not a a livejournal user, all you have to do is comment anonymously (and then tell me who you are, jk, only if you want to). thanks again!

-megan.
