Writer's Block: Gone but Not Forgotten

Many beloved television shows are no longer with us, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Six Feet Under, and Mystery Science Theater 3000. What defunct television show do you miss the most?

okay, let me see...my so-called life, new amsterdam, life as we know it, rich girls (does anyone remember this show, on mtv, with ally hilfiger??? great show, so 8th grade), so weird, bug juice, salute your shorts, clarissa explains it all, caroline in the city, jessie, something so right, the simple life (when it was good), the oc (ditto), summerland, lizzie mcguire, boy meets world....the list goes on and on.....

basically, everything i like has been cancelled way to early and it really makes me sad...

today in the world of megan j.

pretty standard...pretty chill....

woke up, had breakfast, got victoria, went to senior project.

had a good time...once again, those kids are sooo adorable!!

after, got some chipotle! it is cinco de mayo after all!

then, came home, had a little mini breakdown after i realized riley's new clothes didn't fit him...okay, the breakdown wasn't instigated by that, i just wanted to mention that his clothes didn't fit and i'm super sad..i guess riley's just too big of a dog to dress...:(.

anyway, to cool off, riley and i went for a nice long walk in orange park. he was such a good dog that i figured he deserved a treat so i drove him to mcdonald's. i'm pretty sure riley recognizes the golden arches because he started salivating before we even pulled into the parking lot!

once i took riley home, i had dinner with my dad at american tavern. i decided to take advantage of their massive jukebox so i loaded up on some awesome tunes, unfortunately, the volume wasn't turned up until my last two songs :(.

came home, checked out the dailys, watched some gg, y'all know how that went...now i'm relaxing with my puppy and trying not to stress out about senior project/ap exams/being fat/life sucking/etc.

k, so anyway, in the lives of others.....

fabsugar posted this incredibly adorable outfit today:

i want that.

the pussycat dolls 2.0 aka girlicious, are doing an ad campaign for that big sexy hair stuff...but when i was reading about that, i saw this pic, and i'm sorry, but i just cannot help loving their funky and fun look:

there's now these really awesomely cute limited edition diet coke bottles, but they're only available at this one store that we don't have around here...ugh, jealous...sometimes, living in cleveland is harsh.

but sometimes, living in cleveland is not so harsh....because of the papa john's scandal with them sponsoring those #23 crybaby shirts...which really made no sense by the way...papa johns all across northeast ohio are selling pizza for only 23 cents on thursday as an apology to all the cavs fans...maybe this will stop some of us from boycotting them, but for others, we'll just sit on the sidelines and watch the rest of cleveland get fat on cheap pizza...because we're allergic to wheat :). obviously, i think it was a bad call on papa john's part to sponsor the shirts, and i think they were really stupid and annoying because we all just wore simple rise up shirts, never any hate shirts for crying out loud, but really, this incident will not affect my life one way or another.

anyway....christina ricci was spotted wearing this adorable little black dress....gosh, i just love christina ricci!!!

fashionista says that ally hilfiger may be coming out with her own line sometime soon! i like her as well, and now that i know about her name (it's just like my cousin's!) i like her even more!!! here's the article:
Is Ally Hilfiger a Solo Artist?
May 05, 2008 @ 3:32pm

It's no secret we have a little crush on Ally Hilfiger.

(1. Her name is Alexandria, which is like super British and intellectual. 2. Her smile is huge. 3. She can't make burritos. 4. She has two Basquiats in her Tribeca apartment...).

So when the heiress announced she was doing a line of t-shirts with Izzy Gold, the scenester/ dj/ artist/ whatever, we were pretty stoked.

Except, well... she's not doing them any more.

We heard at a fashion party this weekend that la petite Hilfiger is no longer working with Izzy on t-shirts, and is focusing instead on her painting, at least for the moment.

How that union dissolved, we have no idea, but somehow, we imagine it happened in the VIP room of a midtown nightclub.

k, that's basically it! i'm out for now!

xoxo...megan.

omg i miss her!!!

okay, four years ago, i definitely spent a substantial part of my winter break watching rich girls...i miss that show!

so thank goodness i found this on whowhatwear daily!:

Before we fell in love with The Hills and The Real Housewives of Orange County (our not-so-secret obsession), there was once a little MTV gem called Rich Girls. If for some strange reason you missed the single season in 2003 (which was mundane and mesmerizing in equal parts), the reality show followed the lives of two, well-to-do teens in New York. One of the subjects/stars of the show was Ally Hilfiger and we found her practically impossible not to watch, thanks to her sweetly sheltered point of view. Recently, Hilfiger popped up on our radar again, but this time we find her compelling for wholly different reasons. The 22-year-old is holding her own in the competitive, Manhattan fashion scene and we think she’s one to watch.

Unlike many of her privileged background peers, Hilfiger has a down-to-earth take on trends that is both accessible and personal (she looks like she actually styles herself). Mathematically speaking, she seems to be working with a 60% uptown/40% downtown mix for a smart—but never precious—style. She wears sophisticated pieces in a youthful manner, like pairing the above, furry vest with a t-shirt and skinny black pants for a night at Pete Wentz’s weekly karaoke competition. We also approve of how Hilfiger reuses her favorite wardrobe staples, like the animal print belt she wore to a party for a Vanity Fair fete (hot pink dress, far right) and then again for Nina Garcia’s book party (black dress, far left).

She’s also supporting young designers—always a savvy choice—and wearing buzzy pieces from these up-and-coming lines. The electric blue Hologram Dress ($475) with sequined details (above, second from right) Hilfiger chose for an Art Basel party is not only one our favorite pieces from Alexander Wang’s resort collection, but tastemaker Erin Wasson’s too. We were also excited to see she’s wearing Katy Rodriguez too (above, far right) and doing her own take on a suit, albeit a modern one with shorts instead of a skirt (above, middle). Hopefully Hilfiger’s eye and personal stamp will be available to the greater public. She’s rumored to be opening a boutique in LA soon and we’re quite curious to see what she’d stock!
